Tempered glass with high toughness, bending resistance and high safety performance is more and more commonly used in home decoration. However, as a glass product, tempered glass can have many precautions.
Now we will introduce the details of the use of tempered glass.
1. Pay attention to protecting the corners of the tempered glass. If the corners of the tempered glass are damaged, the risk of glass self explosion will increase exponentially. Because the stress points of tempered glass are all concentrated at the corners, the protection of corners is particularly important. When the tempered glass with damaged corners cannot be treated, be careful;
2. To prevent the tempered glass from being under pressure for a long time for the sake of indoor beauty, many families will choose to use the tempered glass as the table and tea table on the desktop. Generally, the pressure of the tempered glass is between 70 mpa and 100 mpa. This pressure multiplied by the force area of the glass is the pressure it can withstand. The converted product mass=(pressure * area)/10. If it is unnecessary, do not place heavy objects on the toughened glass table for a long time to avoid breaking the toughened glass when the pressure reaches a critical point;
3. Avoid uneven heat and cold. If high temperature and low temperature are applied to both ends of a piece of glass under extreme conditions, 90% of the glass will self explode. For example, if you pour some cold water on the lighted incandescent lamp, the glass of the incandescent lamp will break. Although the occurrence of this kind of situation is very small for tempered glass, we are not afraid of ten thousand just in case;
4. Keep away from acid and alkali substances to avoid contacting the tempered glass with alkali substances such as sodium hydroxide and HF. The glass is essentially silicon dioxide (SiO2), which will react with the above substances;
5. It is forbidden to use sharp and hard objects to strike the corners of the glass. As the stress points of the tempered glass are concentrated at the corners, once the corners are broken, the probability of the tempered glass breaking will increase. Therefore, for the sake of household safety, do not use sharp and hard objects to strike the corners of the tempered glass.
In addition to the quality of tempered glass, whether the installation and use are rigorous is also an important factor related to safety.
1. Customized doors and windows, cut tempered glass doors. If the tempered glass doors do not meet the installation dimensions, it will be troublesome to rework, so it is necessary to be correct when measuring. The measurement of tempered glass mainly includes the width and height of glass plate. When measuring the width of the glass plate, measure it at the bottom, middle and top respectively, and select the small size as the cutting width. If the data obtained at the top, middle and bottom are consistent, reduce the measured size by 3-5 mm as the cutting width of the glass. Similarly, the height of the glass plate should include the installation position where the upper and lower crosspieces are inserted, so it is generally taken to be 3-5 mm less than the measured data for cutting.
2. Treatment and installation of tempered glass
After the glass plate is cut according to the size, it is usually necessary to chamfer the four corners. Generally, fine grinding wheel blocks are used for slow fine grinding. Then the bottom bracket is fixed. The aluminum alloy doors and windows are fixed with aluminum alloy frames and fixed on the frames with aluminum corners. Use the glass sucker to move the glass plate westward and put the glass in place. Insert the upper part of the glass plate into the limit slot in the door frame, and then place the lower part of the glass plate in the butt joint of the bottom bracket facing.
3. Sealed by glue injection, doors and windows are shaped, windproof and waterproof glass plates are fixed thick, and sealed by glue injection at the top limit groove and the fixing position of the bottom bracket, as well as the butt joint between the glass plate and the frame column. Use plastic sheet to scrape the glue on both sides of the glass plate butt joint, and clean the residue. Be careful when wiping the residue, and try not to use sharp objects such as blades. After the height of the door leaf is determined, insert small wooden strips from both sides of the gap between the glass plate and the entry and exit crosspieces, tap gently and firmly, inject glass glue into the gap between the small wooden strips, the door leaf glass and the crosspiece, and then use the above method to deal with the residue. Tempered glass belongs to safety glass, which is widely used in places with high mechanical strength and safety requirements. Everyone must pay attention to details and safety when using it.
