Information summary:In the design of building facades and door & window systems, glazing components fulfill multiple functions including daylighting, thermal insulation and sound insulation. Single-pane glass has a high heat transfer coefficient. In summer, outdoor heat transfers indoors while indoor heat escapes outward in winter, leading to higher air-conditioning energy consumption.

In the design of building facades and door & window systems, glazing components fulfill multiple functions including daylighting, thermal insulation and sound insulation. Single-pane glass has a high heat transfer coefficient. In summer, outdoor heat transfers indoors while indoor heat escapes outward in winter, leading to higher air-conditioning energy consumption. For buildings adjacent to roads, single-pane glass offers limited sound insulation, and outdoor noise disturbs the indoor environment. An insulated glass unit consists of two glass panes hermetically sealed with a spacer to form an air cavity in between. As a double-sealed glazing component for thermal and acoustic insulation of building doors, windows and curtain walls, it meets glass supply requirements for residential doors and windows, public building curtain walls, skylights and other applications.

An insulated glass unit is assembled from two or more glass panes and spacer frames. A fixed gap between panes forms an air cavity, and the perimeter is sealed with sealants and spacer bars. Dry air or inert gas can be filled inside the cavity. The air cavity blocks heat transfer paths, lowering the overall heat transfer coefficient and improving thermal insulation performance. Meanwhile, the air cavity attenuates sound waves, reducing acoustic energy transmitted indoors and enhancing sound insulation. Base panes such as float glass, tempered glass and Low-E coated glass can be combined and selected according to application scenarios. Different spacer bars and sealing structures are available for stable long-term sealing. The cavity stays dry so fogging and condensation are less likely during long service life.

For residential doors and windows, floor-to-ceiling windows, balcony windows and bedroom windows have large areas. The thermal performance of glass directly affects indoor temperature and energy consumption. Insulated glass reduces indoor heat loss in winter and slows heat ingress in summer, stabilizing indoor temperature fluctuations and cutting air conditioning and heating loads. For roadside residences, insulated glass blocks traffic noise and improves indoor acoustic comfort. Residential window manufacturers fabricate insulated glass to match window dimensions for seamless fitting with window frames, satisfying glass supply demands for residential building doors and windows.

For public building curtain walls, office, shopping mall and hotel curtain walls cover vast areas. The thermal and acoustic performance of glass impacts building energy consumption and indoor environment. When combined with Low-E coated panes, insulated glass reflects part of solar radiation to reduce solar heat gain in summer and lower building cooling loads. Curtain wall glass is processed to panel sizes with stable edge sealing to maintain overall watertightness of the curtain wall. Public buildings have strict aesthetic requirements for facades; insulated glass can use base panes with varied light transmittance and reflectivity to realize facade design concepts, catering to glass procurement needs for public building curtain walls.

For skylights and sunrooms, top glazing is continuously exposed to sunlight, and thermal performance directly determines indoor temperature. The air cavity of insulated glass inhibits heat conduction and limits temperature rise under the skylight in summer. Tempered insulated glass features high mechanical strength and reliable impact resistance to meet safety requirements for overhead glazing. Sunrooms fitted with insulated glass retain daylighting while improving indoor thermal conditions, fulfilling glass demands for skylights and sunrooms.

For commercial refrigerated cabinets and display windows, display glazing must balance visual presentation and thermal insulation. Insulated glass maintains light transmission while blocking heat exchange between inside and outside to stabilize temperatures within display spaces. Storefront display windows fitted with insulated glass reduce heat loss in winter and slow heat penetration in summer to maintain stable display environments, suitable for glass applications in commercial exhibition spaces.

Production of insulated glass follows standardized deep processing workflows, including raw glass cutting, edge grinding & cleaning, assembly, sealing and finished product inspection. Finished units are tested for sealing integrity and dew point performance to guarantee in-service reliability. Custom options include various glass combinations, cavity thicknesses and sealing configurations, with custom sizes available for door, window and curtain wall projects. It serves procurement needs of window and door manufacturers, curtain wall contractors, architectural decoration projects and glass distributors.
