The construction industry has seen rising requirements for the safety performance of building envelope panels. When ordinary monolithic glass breaks under external impact, shards scatter and pose a laceration hazard, limiting its use in high-rise buildings and crowded public spaces. As a type of safety glass, laminated glass delivers protective performance through its multi-layer composite structure. It is widely adopted in various construction projects and serves as a common glass material for curtain walls, skylights, interior partitions and railings.

Laminated glass consists of two or more glass substrates bonded with a PVB interlayer, fabricated via high-pressure thermal lamination. The interlayer firmly adheres to the glass substrates on both sides. If the glass cracks under impact loads, fragments remain bonded to the interlayer film instead of flying outward, lowering the risk of cuts to personnel. The tough interlayer absorbs impact energy and improves the panel’s resistance to external force, meeting safety requirements for public and high-rise buildings.

The laminated structure brings additional acoustic benefits. The interlayer blocks sound transmission and reduces outdoor noise intrusion indoors, making it suitable for windows of roadside buildings and interior sound-insulating partitions. Meanwhile, the film blocks certain ultraviolet wavelengths, slowing the light-induced fading and aging of interior soft furnishings and decorative panels and extending the service life of indoor decorations. Different base glass types can be combined to adjust thermal insulation performance, complying with building energy efficiency design schemes.

Various base glass combinations are available, including clear float glass and tempered glass as substrates, paired with interlayers of different thicknesses. Custom fabrication can be carried out in accordance with project drawings. Curved panels can be produced for complex-shaped projects such as curved skylights and special-shaped curtain walls. Surface treatments like frosting and printing can be applied to achieve privacy shielding and decorative effects for interior partitions and landscape railings.

Laminated glass covers a wide range of engineering scenarios. For outdoor applications, it is used for building curtain walls, skylights and canopy glass to withstand wind, rain and temperature fluctuations. Indoors, it is applied to stair railings, interior partitions and landscape barriers to resist daily bumps and friction. It is also widely used as an enclosure component in transportation facilities, exhibition halls and other public areas with heavy foot traffic.

During production, panels are cut and edge-ground in line with construction drawings, with edge protection processed to reduce chipping and damage during installation. Panel dimensions and thickness can be adjusted according to project load requirements and installation locations. We support supply for projects of all scales, covering bulk orders for large projects and custom processing for small-scale works.

Laminated glass fits conventional glass installation methods and can be fixed with profile frames. Under alternating temperature conditions, the interlayer maintains adhesion between glass layers and reduces the risk of delamination and bubbling, suiting long-term outdoor exposure. For special project requirements, functional inserts can be added between glass layers to meet customized protection specifications.

From building facades to interior spaces, laminated glass offers multiple performance advantages from its composite structure. It accommodates diversified engineering designs and provides safety glass solutions for a broad range of construction projects.
